God Does Not Commune with Earth Suits
76
You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. Romans 8:9-10.
God does not relate to us as men and women but as genderless spiritual beings. We worship, pray, exalt Him in spirit, He responds to us in spirit. Our spirit is not a possession, it is who we are. We ARE spirits because of where we derived our being which, of course, was from the breath of God, and God is Spirit.
Our bodies therefore, are mere male and female earth suits we wear, fashioned out of earth’s dirt. The body came from dirt, but the spirit came directly out of God Himself. We are made of the same “stuff” God is made of, spirit. Nowhere in the Bible does the spirit have a gender. Man, perceiving in the natural realm, all too often, gets distracted by the dirt and does not therefore, see through spiritual eyes or discern life spiritually.
God gave man (mankind) a special gift: earth. But earth was physical and for man to occupy it he had to also be physical and therefore, God gave us physical bodies (earth suits). So, while on earth, we are living within temporary male and female suits both of which are nothing but dirt.
“By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return.” (Genesis 3:19).
But God does not commune with earth suits, He, as a Spirit communes with our spirits which are genderless as He is genderless. Humanity was made to function spiritually, in a way that brings us in relationship with God where we enjoy His Person and Presence.
I think it is regretful that so few of us Christians, particularly those in leadership positions, have failed to understand the spiritual life. God interacts with us only as genderless spiritual beings. Our spirituality expresses the intimacy of our relationship with Him. In our union with Christ, we identify with His death and resurrection, made real to us through the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit. It is the personal experience of this reality that manifests our spirituality.
“God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.” John 4:24.
Thus, spiritually speaking, and this is the way I think Christians should relate to each other, there is no such thing as male and female because we do not have a gender. We are spirit. The real self, the inner personality, our being essence is spirit. This is why God deals with the Church, not as the shell (building) but as the Body of Christ; no Jew or Gentile, no male or female, no slave or free, just one spiritual union in Christ Jesus.
As born again children with our spirits made alive by God's Spirit, true Christians are by our very being and existence, spiritual people and everything in our lives is spiritual. All of our growth in grace is spiritual growth. All of our work and service are spiritual. Our knowledge and understanding is spiritual. Our relationship with one another is a spiritual relationship in unity with the Holy Spirit. The Bible is a spiritual book and only those with the Spirit of God, the Author, can understand its content. Our Guidance is spiritual guidance “because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.” (Romans 8:14).
And, our warfare is spiritual, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:12). Our fight is against satanic spiritual forces of: unbelief, doubt, rebellion, unforgiveness, resentment, anger, hatred, violence, murder, bitterness, jealousy, envy and the like.
With the new birth of every child of God, a spiritual (new nature) being is brought into existence and is different absolutely from the natural (old nature) but just as real and definitive. What the New Testament lucidly reveals is that our new nature is altogether different from the old; everything is new. Christian spirituality is a fundamental change in the person and this change is entirely spiritual. The natural and the spiritual belong to two distinctive orders and kingdoms. Thus, every true Christian is different in our very being, indwelt by the Holy Spirit. It is imperative that we recognize the gulf between what is natural and what is spiritual. Though secular and spiritual worlds are parallel, they should not intersect.
The natural man, as most of us know, is always trying to grab through natural or secular means. Everything must be reasoned, explained, comprehended, and proved. They can only believe what they can feel and touch and see with the physical eye. Well, if we were to look at Jesus naturally, as the Jewish leaders did; if we look at Him the way we look at each other, we will see only a carpenter’s Son. If we look at Him the way the world looks at Him, we will see only His temporary earth suit; we will see only someone who was uneducated and unlearned. If we look at Him with no faith and no belief, then we will only see someone who was born, laid in a manger, lived, ate, and drank like other men. We will see only a Man who was crucified in utter weakness upon a cross.
But when we have been saved, forgiven, sanctified, justified and sin-purified by the redeeming sacrificial blood of Jesus Christ and the grace and love of almighty God, we are adopted into His spiritual family. Thus, with spiritual eyes, we see Jesus as being more than a human in a male earth suit, we will see more than a carpenter’s son, more than a good man, more than a peasant, more than someone who died on a cross. He is our Savior, the long awaited Messiah, the Wonderful, Counselor, Almighty God, Everlasting Father, and the Prince of Peace.
Christians live in the spirit, walk in the spirit, pray in the spirit, preach in the spirit, and sing in the spirit. We do everything spiritually because we live in the Spirit of God that lives in us. This spiritual world is closed to the natural man. It is a mystery that is outside his worldly kingdom. The natural man can only see earth suits and can think only in earth terms. Spiritual things are and always will be an enigma to the natural mind for God cannot, by virtue of His Spiritual being, commune with the natural.
We recall the stark difference between Jesus and the Jewish leaders in their radical and almost fanatical devotion to religion. It was not that their religion was different, but the difference was between the spirit and the natural in religion. So to them, Jesus was a rebel, a mad Man, a wrong Man. In their minds, Jesus could not possibly be right because their reasoning was in the realm of the natural.
When we discuss Christian spirituality then, we are talking about the sovereign work of the Holy Spirit, not man.
“The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” John 3:8.
“Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.” John 3:6
“Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.” John 1:12-13.
We cannot convert ourselves; we cannot convert anyone else, we cannot give ourselves a new nature. Nor do we have any say in when it is to take place either for ourselves or others. All is the business of the sovereign Spirit. If the Wind decides to blow, it does not give us prior notice. It just blows. When the Spirit decides to blow, we cannot tell it to stop and come another day. It just blows! Thus, we know that it is an exercise in futility to try and stand against the Wind when it decides to blow.
We can take the point further into the New Testament where we read:
“Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” Acts 2:46-47.
The apostles did not add, other believers did not add. The Lord added. This is the work of Christ.
We note Pentecost when they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind...and about three thousand were added to their number that day. This was the Holy Spirit. It is unfortunate that the presence of the sovereignty of the natural man intrudes into his Christianity. The apostles did not add, other believers did not add. The Lord added. This is the spiritual work of Deity.
“This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.” I Corinthians 2:13-14.
“The spirit is the highest and noblest part of man, which qualifies him to lay hold of incomprehensible, invisible, eternal things; in short, it is the house where Faith and God's Word are at home.” Martin Luther.

This is absolutely beautiful! I've never heard this teaching, but I receive it as truth. I have a hard time imagining all of us as one body in spirit for eternity, knowing each other, yet not identifying a gender. We will neither marry nor be given in marriage, and the angels are said to be genderless (in spirit). They came in the 'form' of males when they appeared in the Bible, but nonetheless they are spirit beings in the heavens. The perfect male/female (as one) attribute is that of God, for He is El Shaddai. I am thankful for your insight. We do allow God to use us to spread the gospel, but it is truly He who brings the increase and saves the lost.
"Not by might [man's], nor by power [man's], but by My Spirit, saith the LORD." (Zechariah 4:6). We know His Spirit is both mighty and powerful. I love 1 Cor 2:13-14. This hub so comforted my heart. I'm glad you are so obedient to write what the LORD lays on your heart!
RevLady, Awesome Message! Sometimes it is difficult to find the proper vernacular to describe spiritual things of the LORD! But PRAISE be to GOD! AMEN & AMEN!!! You are POINT ON !!!
“God gave man (mankind) a special gift: earth. But earth was physical and for man to occupy it he had to also be physical and therefore, God gave us physical bodies (earth suits). So, while on earth, we are living within temporary male and female suits both of which are nothing but dirt.” He spoke everything into existence! This is why we pray in Jesus Name we have no authority!
In God’s eyes we are one He took Eve out of Adam... It is the original sin that caused us to begin to look at things from a limited carnal perspective! “God is Spirit, and His worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.” John 4:24. YES!!! This is why we must daily asked to be FILLED! Thank God for HIS HOLY SPIRIT! In HIM “You are All sons of God through FAITH in Christ Jesus, for ALL of you who were baptized into CHRIST have clothed yourself with CHRIST. Therefore there is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are ALL one in CHRIST JESUS…” Galatians 5. PRAISE GOD!!!
“We cannot convert ourselves; we cannot convert anyone else, we cannot give ourselves a new nature. Nor do we have any say in when it is to take place either for ourselves or others. All is the business of the sovereign Spirit. If the Wind decides to blow, it does not give us prior notice. It just blows. When the Spirit decides to blow, we cannot tell it to stop and come another day. It just blows! Thus, we know that it is an exercise in futility to try and stand against the Wind when it decides to blow.” POWERFUL! This is why we are to present the TRUTH, proclaim, teach and preach “The Gospel”! It is GOD that converts the heart opens the spiritual eyes and draws the Spirit within us...
What is so amazing is God saw us before we were flesh…. It really goes so much deeper than our little finite minds can imagine… GLORY TO GOD!
”Our relationship with one another is a spiritual relationship in unity with the Holy Spirit.” Amen & AMEN! Wonderful my sister in the LORD! My heart is Rejoicing! GLORY To OUR FATHER!! There is much spiritual food here to meditate and feast on! Thank you for your obedience in sharing this powerful God inspired MESSAGE! May HIS FAVOR continue to rest upon you! In HIS Love, Joy, Peace! May He shower you with bountiful BLESSINGS from above! "Have Thine Own WAY LORD"!!!
Have heard this before, many, many years ago! When I grasped onto the concept then, it was awesome at the time, to think of God communicating to us and He Himself viewing us in Spirit. To most this is another mystery:) Great Hub!
Thank you for your insight. You give me many thing to think about.
God Bless
I love the "earth suit" analogy! It really makes you stop and think about it. I am actually a spirit inside a casing. Makes me want to get out of it...especially since my joints are hurting right now and I have a headache. lol
I think the first time I heard this concept was from Myles Monroe about ten years back. I loved it from the get go. If we look and see Adam, standing alone, we see him looking upon a creation that can reproduce itself, and yet he cannot. It was an amazing gift when he gave him his wife, allowing him also to reproduce. This whole analogy also goes far in understanding temptation including sexual temptations. Everything in life is about obedience to the will of the Creator, and many have cast off that obedience for desires of the 'earth suit.' They can't even look at other 'earth suits' without lusting. The whole beauty of the spirit inside is rendered unimportant and trivial, even so to the point, that people forget to work and exercise the spirit. Everything is external, and by refusing the voice of the Spirit inside, they do and allow many things to happen to their 'earth suits' which are neither convienent nor good. Thanks for getting my day off to a great start! Peace.
This is my first to hear of ' earth suit', makes me think about gender, we are all equal, none above another, the bible speaks of a woman remaining quiet , i hear all the time that 'woman is not to lead' Why do u think that churches believe this. I look forward to your hubs, your teachings are uplifting. Thank you
God Bless
Thanks for a wonderful hub with much to ponder. Praise God that we can worship in spirit and that He reached out to us. Thanks again.
Brilliant! While it is easy for me to grasp the concept that "who I am" is not the body I live in but what lives inside this body. The essence of me. It gets more fascinating when I consider as you pointed out that God is not speaking to my house but to my spirit. If I can fully grasp this it will make what happens to this body of less consequence. Thank you!
RevLady,
Lots to ponder in this teaching - especially since I am coming to believe that sex is not part of the image of God (because other animals are created in God's image, too!).
I am concerned, though, that most Christians assume that biological sex and gender are not part of the new creation in some way. After all, Scripture doesn't say we will not have gender, just that we will not be given in marriage. In Isaiah six, the seraphs "cover their feet" which is a reference to covering the genitals in most Hebrew writing.
I'm concerned that you might be misunderstood as saying that Jesus is no longer human, but only "appeared" to be that way for the benefit of humans. Isn't this a form of the heresy condemned by the early post-apostolic church? And what do we say about the resurrection of the body? Will we lack gender or biological sex then? Did Jesus lack these things in his resurrected body?
I loved most of what you said: I'm just hoping you can clarify your meaning. :)
Your brother,
Rob
Hello Reverend Lady!
I, too, had never given it thought, that God does not see as a male and female, here on Earth. When we finally go home, of that I knew and believed.
This is very deep and very revealing, to realize that when we pray to our Heavenly Father, we are seen as JUST spirit, not flesh. It certainly paints a whole different picture. It just seems so sacred, so private, our moments with God.
What a difference this makes now, to suddenly see and realize this truth, what you have taught us here today. Thank you, thank you, RevLady!
May our Precious Lord bless, keep and protect you today and always.
Receive my sincere love and many HUGE hugs today, in Christ Jesus,
VKA
It seems we all have spiritual as well as physical eyes and ears,et cetera.
Thank you Revlady, for a very informative and enlightening hub about earth suit, how inspiring. Thank you for sharing. Godspeed. creativeone59
Rev Lady: Thank you Thank you Thank you! for finally corroberating that which I have attempted to share so many times.
I have been trying to present this point of view for months now some get it many don't. WE ARE SPIRIT IN NATURE. The spirit of God, communicates with our spirit, not with our human form.
So many if not all of your points made with this Hub regarding the fact that we are spirit living in human form in order to serve God here on earth, I have been trying to introduce for months now with many varied Hubs.
God bless you for substantiating my points.
Brother Dave.
Dear Rev Lady : Your Hub was wonderful. Sins of the flesh are easy to make. God Bless You Dear heart.
Hi, this is lovely and so true, there are so many people out there that are so mixed up with their daily lives that they forget we are but a suit with the true 'us' inside it. God of course is not a gender and we are the way we are because we have to produce the next physical children, but that is all. So many people preach and just do not understand this principal point, but you have explained it beautifully, I really enjoyed reading this, take care nell
RevLady, Loved It!!!
I've got so much reading to do, this was a great place to start.
God Bless
Excellent hub with great insights to ponder. Salvation is wholly a work of God. Even the act or repentance is a gift of God. The conviction of sin is a work of the Spirit of God. It is God who grants us repentant hearts.Thank you for sharing these marvelous truths. Blessings to you and best regards.
Thanks for the insightful hub.
"The apostles did not add, other believers did not add. The Lord added. This is the work of Christ" It is nice to know the eternal truth.
Rev: Thank God for this hub and I know a lot of people who need to read it. The bible at no time, in no book, nor in any way, ever relates to two kinds of spirits from Him. The same holy spirit dwells in all His people. Wonderful hub. Be blessed sister...John
Hi RevLady, thanks for this one, it has resolved (to my satisfaction) my query concerning women in ministry, in the overview, in balance with Paul's writing's.
I have propounded for years that we are spirit temporarily encapsulated in a body. This just deals with it better.
Now it makes some sense that I (male) am the 'Bride' of Christ, and you (female) are my brother.... ;o)
Stay Blessed!
John
Outstanding perspective and insight! Thanks for taking the time to enlighten us! Be blessed.
Without the Spirit, we are no use to man or beast. If we have Gods spirit and we trust him with our life, hE WILL DO THE IMPOSSIBLE FOR YOU.
God bless
RevLady I still think they should add a key called "excellent" I have totally enjoyed this read...our journey on the road this past year has given me a whole new outlook on the work of evangelism...yes, we are to be a witness to Jesus...and when He sets up the communication between me and another soul I can be rest assured that person is ready for the answer the Holy Spirit has worked in me. It will be natural...and Holy Spirit set up. This does not mean there will always be success every time, the other person still has a choice to make but, it is their choice...and they will have to answer to the Lord for it not to me...great hub learned much from it...thank you for your faithfulness to the word and the witness you are to Christ...blessings and love Ulrike Grace
Physical man of today is so hung up on the physical body and care nothing of his spirit. Yes our "suit" is the temple of God, but it's what is contained in the temple that is important.
I remember when my 2nd husband died, the night before his funeral I tossed and turned because I had forgotten to buy socks and fretted all night that his feet would be cold. His soul was no longer in his suit it had gone where it needed to be at the time of his death.
But it seems almost inbred that we worry about that outer suit instead of the inner spirit. Excellent thought provoking hub!
Hi Sister Saundra - fantastic piece that you have put together and very well detailed. Another thing that stood out for me, is one of the main reasons that I believe our 'adversary' is so jealous of God's creation in humankind, where you said: "...With the new birth of every child of God, a spiritual (new nature) being is brought into existence..." This also reminded me of the fact about our original "physical birth", that 'WE' are created in "'HIS' own image". It shows us that we are the ONLY beings that are able to produce (create) a "NEW Soul" (through childbirth), just like the Lord. The Angels cannot do this (or the devil), nor any of the other living creatures. Thus, it is the enemy's desire to ruin this divinely unique aspect of our relationship with God. Praise the Lord and thanks to His grace - which allows us to 'reclaim' that inheritance once again through our spiritual salvation and 're-birth' as believers in Christ Jesus! -AMEN.
Be blessed always... Rev.Ted

You always make me stop and think, read again...think.....This is awesome. That He does not even see gender.......just spirit.
